Colonel Rune Broor Lillquist, age 76 passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, January 11, 2021 in Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 23, 1944 in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of Rune Frank Lillquist and June Rose Lillquist. Colonel Lillquist served his county in the United States Air Force as a CNRA. After his military career he and his wife made their home in Port Saint Joe and after her passing he continued to live in Port Saint Joe. Hurricane Michael worked havoc on his home, and repairing, rebuilding and remodeling was almost impossible because of the horrific destruction of the Panhandle and the limited available contracting services were overwhelmed, even to this day. He was receiving excellent care in Chautaqua Rehab Center after his health began to decline.
Among survivors are his brothers, Brien Lillquist and John Lillquist. Also surviving are nieces and nephews including, Chris Mulkins.
It was the Colonel's wishes to be cremated, as was his wife Lisl and their cremated human remains will be scattered together in the Gulf at their home in Port Saint Joe.
