Obituary

Mary Josephine (Jo) Perryman Brown was born March 8, 1926, in Macon, GA to D. Hopkins Perryman and Mary Moore Hutchinson.  Jo met and married B.J. Brown, Jr. in Atlanta where he attended dental school at Emory University.  After his graduation from dental school, they moved back to DeFuniak Springs.

Jo had two daughters, Susan Brown Burgess (Ron) and Marsha Brown Anderson (Jim). She also had two beautiful grandchildren, Clay Brown Adkinson (Lauren) and Allison Anderson Hartley (Walt), and two lovely great-granddaughters, Isabella Adkinson and Eleanor James Hartley (expected April 2023).

Jo enjoyed her family, the history of DeFuniak Springs, and the beaches of Walton County.   

Sharing last words from Jo, "All of you have a happy life and love each other, that is all you have.  Just one day.  This one.  I love all of you."

The family will be accepting friends Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM in the Evans-McDonald Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
