Obituary

Glenda Diane Pope passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023.  She was born August 23, 1947, in Walton County, Florida, to parents Glenn A. Pope, Sr. and Martha T. Pope.

Diane spent her childhood in Walton County, graduating from Walton High school in 1965, then attended college at University of Florida.  She returned to DeFuniak Springs and began working in civil service, where she retired from the IRS in 2012.

Diane loved reading and spending time with family.  Greatly loved by many, she was fiercely loyal to her family and friends, and her immeasurable love for her son Erick was undeniable.

Diane is predeceased by her father, Glenn A. Pope, Sr.  She is survived by her son Erick R. Pope, mother, Martha T. Pope, brother Glenn A. Pope, Jr., niece and nephews, Caitlain M. Pope, Tyler A. Pope, and Joshua A. Pope, and grandchildren, Jaxson and Ashton Pope.

Everyone is welcome to join for a Celebration of Life service at Evans-McDonald Funeral Home, Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 2:00 PM.
